LEADING ON. . .

SUCCESSION TRAINING FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

NCG is interested in Executive Leadership Training and is currently preparing a one year course for executive successors in the non profit field. Leading facilitators will deliver hands on, practical, must know information two days per month over the course of a year.


Problem:
Potential future leaders in the non profit sector are scarce because of:

  • staffing shortages
  • preference by skilled managers to retain employment in the higher paying business sector
  • lack of cost effective skill development opportunities
  • lack of succession planning by Boards.


Goal:
To provide future leaders of non-profit organizations with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for successful integration into the Executive Director role.

Objectives:

  1. To provide future leaders with learning in the practical skill areas required of senior leadership.
  2. To provide opportunity for establishing relationships and connections with colleagues throughout the province.
  3. To provide skilled and knowledgeable facilitators.
  4. To provide the training in an enjoyable retreat setting encouraging relaxation and participation.

Logistics:

  • The course will be completed over a one year period of time.
  • Course covers 24 days of training and at least 12 resource books/material:
    • Reading material/books will be required as identified by the facilitator of each topic area.
    • Each topic will be covered over two days each month thus covering 12 priority topic areas.
